High environmental standards: life cycle assessments and certified supply chains

The Italian tube manufacturer Global Tube SPA produced the tubes for the moisturising and LV Micellar Cleansing Gel with a dual-acting and fragrance-free formula for the Finnish company Berner, based in Helsinki. LV products have ambitious sustainability requirements, and the choice of ingredients is the foundation of everything. The new skincare range has undergone a life cycle assessment: The environmental impact of the products has been studied from the source of ingredients to the recycling of packaging. The demands that Global Tube had to fulfil in the production of the plastic tubes with a diameter of 50 mm were correspondingly high. The extruded tube is produced with 100% bio-based material, offset print and matt finish. It is completed with a transparent frosted HDPE screw cap which makes the tube a mono-material packaging. The tubes were manufactured with raw materials of biological origin - vegetable oils, used edible oils or organic waste – coming from certified supply chains. The products are accompanied by a sustainability declaration which reports the quantity of origin components and guarantees identical performance, quality and properties compared to traditional products. On top of that they are ISCC PLUS certified.
